Tour description: This expedition explores the Western part of Mongolia, offering an ideal adventure for those seeking new challenges and diverse experiences. The region is home to approximately ten distinct ethnic nomadic groups, including Kazakhs. Day 1: Ulaanbaatar
Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar by air or train you will be greeted by your guide and driver, and transferred to your hotel. Optional half or full day city tours are available.
Day 2: Ulgii town-Khovd River
On this day we will take a domestic flight to Ulgii town and upon arrival will drive to the Khovd River for camping on the bank. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Khoton-Khurgan Lakes
Drive to Khoton and Khurgan Lakes. On the way there will be a visit to Kazakh families to experience their nomadic lifestyle and then set up a camp early. Meet our local guides and prepare for the trekking. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Khoton-Khurgan
The trek will begin on this day. Trekking will be over a terrain of gentle hills and small flat valleys that lie along the Khoton Lake. The area is dotted with white gers of Kazakhs who live in the area. Also you will spot a few ancient circular tombs where the perimeter circle is marked with stones with a rock pile in the center. Overnight stay in a tent (B/L/D)
Day 5: Tsagaan Gol Valley
On this day drive to Tsagaan Gol Valley with lunch on the way. Arrive at Tsagaan Gol Valley in the evening. Camp next to a Tuvan family. Visit the family to meet them and experience their lifestyle. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Tsagaan Gol Valley
The hike on this day is around 18 km through Shiveet Khairkhan mountain which is one of the most famous mountains for its rock paintings. Camping on the banks of Tsagaan Gol. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 7: Potanine Glacier
On this day the hike will be 18 km. The group will reach Potanin Glacier and camp there. The glacier stretches for 17km. View of 5 highest peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains can be enjoyed from here. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 8: Malchin Peak
On this day the group will climb Malchin Peak which is one of the 5 highest peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd. The peak is 4,049 meters above sea level. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 9: Tsagaan Gol Valley
This is the last day of trekking and we will make our way back to Tsagaan Gol Valley to meet our local drivers. We will have a farewell dinner with our local camel and horse guides during the trekking trip and say goodbye to them. Overnight stay in a tent. (B/L/D)
Day 10: Ulgii town
The group will drive back to Ulgii town. Check into a local hotel upon arrival in town. If the group arrives early then we will visit the local bazaar and walk around the town. Dinner in a Muslim restaurant. Overnight stay in a local hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 11: Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast the group will drive to the airport for a domestic flight to Ulaanbaatar. We will be delighted to drop you off at your hotel. Thank you for joining us on this memorable journey.

Your holiday contract
When you book a tour or other travel arrangements our contract with you takes effect when we send you a written confirmation /by info@tourmongolia.com this e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it/ of booking. Once contract is made we are responsible for providing you with the tour you have booked and you are responsible to pay us for it, in each case subject to terms and conditions.
Please note
It is important to check carefully the written confirmation of your booking when you receive it, or if booking are late that all the details are exactly as you requested. Our responsibility is to provide you with the service you have booked as described in the itinerary and as confirmed to you. In parties of two or more people, the person who makes the tour booking by signing our booking form or otherwise contracting with us, accepts responsibility for making all payments to us for all members of the party. We will send all documents and other information to that person who will in turn be responsible for ensuring that the other members of the party are kept fully informed. If you are aged under 18 /on the date of departure/ and your parents of guardians are not travelling with you, they must write to us with their consent.
Prices
Once you have confirmed your booking the price of your tour is guaranteed and will not be subject to any surcharge.
Payments
Payment of the price of your tour is due:
a/ If you decide to book your tour program, we require you to pay 100 percent more than 3.5-4 months prior to departure.b/ Payment can be made by bank wire transfer. Bank details will be given to you in advance with our invoice.
Special requests
If you have any special request that does not form part of the tour as described in the itinerary /for example, dietary requirements or room location/ please let us know. We will always try to meet such requests, but cannot guarantee to do so. In no circumstances will such requests, be accepted by us to form part of our contractual obligations and we will not have a liability if they are not met.
Changes
If you want to change any of the details of your booking after we have sent you confirmation we will do our best to help. You must confirm any change in writing to us. /We recommend that letters are sent by e-mail/. If we are able to make the change there will be a charge. If you wish to make any changes whole on tour /e.g. upgrading your accommodation and staying alone in a Ger in the tourist camp/ all requests are subject to availability and any extra fees must be paid.
Cancellations
Cancellation will be calculated as set out below and will be notified to you by mail or e-mail within a week of cancellation. When the cancellation letter is received by us prior to departure charges as per person:
More than 8 weeks – 15 percent only
Less than 8 weeks – 30% of the tour fare
Less than 6 days – 100% of the tour fare
Complaints
If you have a complaint while you are on tour you must tell immediately your tour leader and guide, who will make every effort to resolve them. They will complete a report form with you giving details of your complaint and the action taken resolve it and you should keep a copy of this to keep. If after your tour, you will feel a complaint remains unresolved, you must tell Tour Mongolia about it in writing within 30 days. Complaints regarding any services not directly connected with Tour Mongolia, should be raised with the relevant supplier.
Liabilities
We accept full liability for the proper performance of our obligations under our agreement with you for the provision of your tour. If you suffer damage by our failure to perform or, our improper performance of our agreement with you for the provision of your tour we accept liability except in the following circumstances.
a/ If the failure or improper performances was due to the acts or omissions of the persons affected, or those of someone else not connected with the provision of your tour, and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable, or an event which either we or the supplier of the services in question could not have foreseen or avoided even with all the due care.
b/ If the failure or improper performances is your fault or the fault of any member of your party. We will not be liable for failure of performance or improper performance of the services and any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay of the transport, caused by force majeure. This means things beyond our control such us civil unrest, riot, government restriction, industrial dispute excluding our own employees, Act of god /such as natural disaster/, fire, disease or adverse weather conditions.
Before the commencement of the tour, you must arrange your own insurance with an insurer, with protection for the full duration of the tour, to cover personal injury, medical expanses, repatriation expenses, loss of baggage and the expenses associated with cancellation or curtailment of the tour. If you become ill during the tour, all hospital expenses, doctors’ fees and repatriation costs are your responsibility and we shall not be liable for any refund of the tour cost.
